Interesting things to do during Lock Down

Writer's picture: Evelyn Melissa Ross Evelyn Melissa Ross

Getting past the fact that the first few days of quarantine was the much-awaited break from you're mundane life and while you and most of the world are in quarantine and with your usual means of entertainment probably off the menu. At some point, even the most introverted of us would go stir crazy after a bit -- especially if you've got kids cooped up inside.

The good news is, the internet is responding with more options for social gatherings than ever before, including free online courses and ways to keep yourself entertained if you're living in isolation.

With the travel time cut from you're everyday schedule and loads of time at hand you sure are clueless of what to do.

Here rustled up are some things you possibly could keep busy with over the next few days to kill the boredom out and make the lock-down a memorable one ( I know it is already etched well) in the weeks to pass.

Cook up a Storm in your Kitchen: Well with your boss not hovering you and leisure time with your family. Engage the inner Chef Gordon Ramsay and get experimental with all the fine dining that you always imagined yourself cooking giving those little speeches of how exactly you sear the meat and how long the vegetables needed to be parboiled to have your fancy restaurant food. Oh and take loads of pictures flaunting your work of art on your social media handle

Catch up on the sleep you longed for: Can you imagine getting yourself a good nights rest without worrying about rushing to work the following morning.

Ah well! this lock-down is the perfect time for you to catch up on those hours of sleep you lost, well because work from home gives you the option to sit in you're comfy pyjamas and even take that post-lunch power nap you always craved for at work.

Pamper that beautiful skin you rarely have time for: Ah! well, that love-hate relationship you share with your skin. Those dark circles that have been screaming for some attention and pampering... But with all the parlour's closed, how you may ask? Well, growing up I was told that the kitchen is the best parlour. Time to finally give in to all those old Ghar Ke nuske that mom would keep telling you over the umpteen calls she made.

Prep Your Summer Garden: Sometimes nice weather comes early. If you have a yard or planter box and sunny days, maybe think about readying your garden for summer. Being outside can help with staving off cabin fever, too. While this seems a great idea, mommies out there a tip to keep you're kids busy get them involved in this activity as a family.

Recreate Those Memories: Well there is something special when you revisit those pictures as a child with your parents and the stories each of them holds. With busy schedules and the fact that most of us have moved out of home and have come back to the nest for a brief time. While mom and dad sit watching those precious baby pictures grab the opportunity and recreate some of those memories.

And if the above suggestions don't pique you there is nothing defeats the feeling of having a glass of Red Wine, some country music playing softly in the background while you're surrounded with family having some laughter and catching up with each other.

Don't drink wine?... no worries, You can always have a piping hot cup of tea with some cookies and frolic around with your family. Well if you are stationed away from home books work great.

Wonderful tips. A little care towards stray dogs and other beings is suggestive :)
